On 12 February 2008
the DCSF and the DH jointly released "Healthy
lives, brighter future"- a strategy for child and young people's
health.
The report earmarks an additional £340 to support children with
disabilities - including children with SLCN.

A Coalition is being formed by charities and other bodies
interested in speech and language therapy services for adults with
SLCN. The Coalition's aim is to lobby the Government for an audit into
services for adults with SLCN. Terms of reference are curerntly being
